CPC Training

What is the Driver CPC? The Driver CPC, (Certificate of Professional Competence) was first introduced for Bus and Coach drivers in Sept 2008, and for HGV drivers in Sept 2009. The concept behind the Driver CPC is for all commercial drivers to demonstrate their existing skill set and understanding of specific syllabus areas through either practical, classroom or remote learning.

The Driver CPC requires all drivers operating specific vehicle classes, (D, D1), (C1, C & C&E) for commercial purposes (Hire & Reward) to complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years.

Drivers looking to gain one of the above-mentioned licence categories after Sept 2008 or 2009 would also have to complete an Initial Driver CPC, which is explained in a separate article on the website.

Hawthorn Training Services is a Jaupt approved Driver CPC centre and currently has 35 hours of courses approved by Jaupt for delivery.
